General
It is great to cycle in the Southern Vosges. At 560 kilometers from Utrecht, around the town of Remiremont, you will find low mountains (the “Ballons”), a beautiful high moor area with Finnish Lakes and still untouched “French Campagne”. And it is precisely this variety that makes the Southern Vosges a wonderful cycling area.
If you want to discover whether you have “climbing talent”, then you’ve come to the right place. Classic cols such as the Ballon d’Alsace or the Grand Ballon appeal to the imagination. But it is especially the less well-known climbs such as the Grosse Pierre or the Croix de Monats that appeal to us the most. Beautiful landscapes, quiet roads and appealing percentages…..
Remiremont is home to Julien Absalon, two-time Olympic mountain bike champion. We see him pass behind Villa Moncoeur. It is therefore a fantastic area for mountain biking. The very active VTC Remiremont has set out many beautiful tracks.
Villa Moncoeur has selected the most beautiful cycling tours and combined them into a number of cycling packages. With a stay in one of the highest rated Chambre d’Hotes in France.

Part of the trail leads slightly uphill to Bussang, at the foot of the Ballon d’Alsace. The second “branch” heads north along the Moselotte, through beautiful scenery. A total of more than sixty kilometers of car-free cycle path!
From May to September we can provide good rental bicycles. Electric bicycles are also available.
Julien Absalon, two-time Olympic mountain bike champion, is a famous resident of Remiremont. You can regularly see him training on the mountain bike tracks behind Villa Moncoeur. Routes have been set out ranging from 6 to 30 km, from easy to exciting.
